Julia Dahl is an medical professional[citation needed] employed by Carthage Industries. She served on PATHOS-II, stationed at Omicron, although her title on PATHOS-II is unknown.

Biography

On September 13, 2103, Dahl descended into the Abyss with engineer Alan Waldeck to assist with the evacuation of Tau. In her report, she says that they waited for Tau's staff to arrive for 140 minutes before they attempted to contact Tau. Dahl decided to walk toward Tau, thinking she would intercept the evacuees.

While traveling to the site she heard screaming on the short-range radio, leading her to discover the body of Renata Espinosa, almost cut in two by a large creature. She listened to Espinosa’s colleagues dying over the radio and decided to hurry back to the Climber, leaving the people at Tau to their fate.

In Dahl’s second report on the Tau evacuation (labeled “Carth. Notes”), she states that Johan Ross managed to make it back to Tau in order to continue his work at Alpha. To avoid further disturbances Dahl decided to report the evacuation of Tau as a complete failure, hoping that it will stop Theta from attempting another one.

Dahl's ARK scan was performed by Catherine Chun on December 25, 2103.

On January 16, 2104, the WAU overloaded the blackboxes of Omicron's crew causing their heads to explode, killing every employee, including Dahl.

In SOMA

Simon Jarrett finds Dahl's headless body in the dining hall of Omicron in front of a laptop containing voice recordings and documents.

Transcripts

TAU Evacuation

On September 13th Vic Auclair ordered the staff at Tau to evacuate and move up to the plateau. Together with engineer Alan Waldeck I descended into the abyss to assist the evacuation. Following protocol we waited at the Climber platform for 140 minutes and made several attempts to contact Tau. I decided to move towards the site, thinking I might intercept them. That's when I noticed the guiding lights flickering and soon the whole path shut down - Omega Sector swallowed by darkness. I pushed on with my floodlight until I heard screaming over the short-range radio. It carried on, breaking in and out of range. As I hurried closer to investigate I came upon the lacerated body of Field Worker Espinosa - something big had almost cut her in two. I considered the importance of saving Tau and more specifically Ross, as I heard Espinosa's colleagues getting massacred over the radio. Seeing no way to possibly improve the situation, I hurried back to the Climber and left the people at Tau to their fate.

Behind the Scenes

  • The photo of a dark-haired woman in a lab coat found on Dahl's computer may be her, however the name of the photo itself in the files would indicate it's supposed to be Dr. Nadine Masters.
  • Interestingly, Dahl's corpse is titled "Corpse_Omicron_male_1" in the level editor.
