  • In a blog post from early 2015 I think Jens or Thomas said that having non-intelligent monsters is scarier:

"We’re not overly reliant on things like really sophisticated AI models. I think it works well when you have simplistic models that can work in many different situations."

The Interview in Question I'm changing that piece of information back only as I agree with your other points about the voices.

    • The trivia was still speculation on why the files were unused. Just because they think non-intelligent enemies are scarier doesn't mean Akers couldn't have talked.

  • I'm saying that everything that is written above the headline Appearances in the page Lambda, but before the headline In SOMA, takes place betwen july 31 and december 25.

  • That picture on death of the person clawing at their face is of Imogen not Catherine, it was my mistake getting you to switch them to begin with.

After asking the creators and doing research (test this in game) I've found out that you see that when you die as its Imogen trying to escape from you using her body.  The death screen switches to Raleight doing the same thing once you switch into her body at Omicron.  Really scary stuff actually and makes sense plot wise... Simon isn't in his body and a part of it is telling him to get out.

Anyhow I can move the images from the gallery from Cath's page to Imogen's if you want? Just let me know.  Thanks again for all the hard work.

  • I noticed that on the wiki, members of a station are listed under the mention "Employees." I would prefer to change it with "Crew" as they're not really employed (or payed) by anyone after the impact event. I believe crew is more neutral and fits with this isolated environment.

Also, should we add the complete list of PATHOS-II's inhabitants on the PATHOS-II page? Or perhaps have a Characters page listing them all as well as those from the surface (Simon, David Munshi, the Golaskis, etc...).

    • I think the page Transmissions should be added to that blue bar.

  • Hey Rogers work for upsilon. Why did you put he worked in lambda

  • I'm currently replaying the game.  You do see Reed when you die.  Its your body subconciously trying to tell you that you aren't in your own skin.  Hence her tearing away at her own.

The flashes also change once you swap bodies at Omicron to something else since you are no longer in Imogen's body.  So they were hers all along.  Not Catherines.

    Sorry about that mistake.

    • The flashes change to Raleigh Herber's image. And yes that is indeed Imogen Reed, I checked both the flash image and her normal face side by side to make sure it's not Catherine.

    • Yep!

I'm actually replaying it right now and just saw Herbies face when I purposefully died, how cool is that subtle change and reference to the story and swapped conciousness?

I think Frictional Games is brilliant.

  • Won't that lead more people to believe the events in game and the Transmissions are somehow opposites or not connected? I hate the assumption that they aren't canon since Thomas Grip and many others at Frictional Games have gone on the record saying they are.

If its just a simple split to keep information as how the character appears in game vs. how they appear in the Transmissions that is fine... I just really don't like noobs getting this false idea that the ARG stuff and Transmissions are somehow not canon.

Frictional wouldn't have spent 300,000 of their own money (the budget of Trasmissions) to create something throw away.  Plus under scrutiny the dates all match up and the names and locations in game do too.

I'd just really like if we stopped creating the false assumption that the Transmissions aren't canon.  Not saying you've done this, just some idiots on the SOMA subReddit love to throw that around etc.

    Take care :)

    • Oh guys I'm sorry... I actually can on here to delete my comments on both your walls.  I think the pages are fine how they are.

      I didn't give it enough thought :/

Its best set up how they are nothing is wrong!

    • It was my mistake because I saw the swappable pictures (which are really cool) and mistook them for seperate pages.

      I'm really, really sorry :/

  • Just to notify you, I've checked Dorian Cronstadt's name in the game's lang file (for all texts displayed in-game except subtitles) and it is actually spelled "Cronstedt." I'm moving this page's content to Dorian Cronstedt which still had a redirection link to it.
