What's up I'm the owner of the Amnesia Wiki, and I recently found out about a Discord Server that is dedicated to Frictional Games and their games. I joined and was warmly welcomed, and new channels were created for talk about wiki editing. It has an active modding community in both HPL2 and HPL3. I already had my own discord server specifically for the wiki which I linked to on the site with Discord Integrator, but since it was pretty inactive, I switched it to this general Frictional Games Discord.
What I'm saying is, you should do the same.
It would be fantastic if we could grow this community and give everyone that is passionate about these games a place to talk. As Frictional creates more and more games, the community is just bound to grow.
I hope to see you there. Also, I'm sorry for sounding like a bloody commercial.
I probably should've clarified, I'm not so much retiring, but it wouldn't hurt to have anyone else helping around here, as long as they are part of the SOMA community of course. Just notify me if anyone would like to become admin.
What happened to the Simon on Earth after the ARK launched is up to the player and was intentionally left ambiguous by Frictional Games. If you've played Amnesia: The Dark Descent or Penumbra: Overture/Penumbra: Black Plague before, also made by Frictional Games, you'll see that ambiguity is a tool they use a lot in their stories.
Heya Cridone! Long time no talk. I noticed you seem to edit this wiki pretty actively which is a happy little coincidence. Anyway, to the point, I'm interested in creating a series of pages to document the cut and unused content in the game. Since I'm pretty new to editing this wiki and don't use Wikia that often, it'd be really cool if you could help out to fix formatting and whatever of the pages when you get the chance? I just reckon it'd be nice to have somewhere actually documenting the cut stuff in the game and since it's a personal interest of mine I figured I'd take a shot at being the one to do it. Thanks!
Cridone wrote: Edit: Actually, on second thought, it's fine to have several pages for unused content. So go ahead.
Would it be alright to add new sections to pre-existing pages (such as omicron's page) to detail things cut from specifically that area that wouldn't really fit in a page of their own or would it be best to find a way to incorporate such things into the pre-existing headings?
Edit: For example, Omicron (again) has a bunch of commented out code for events and dialogue and such that really wouldn't work in their own page.
I don't think that would really fit into the page. Anyway, I'll look more into this tomorrow as it's 12 AM where I am and I'd like to get some sleep. Perhaps I'll discuss it some more tomorrow if you're on.

Alright, have a good night. Thanks for the help so far.
Why did you change the name of the page to not have all caps? I thought the film title was confirmed to be in all caps. Furthermore, why did you not leave a redirect at "DEPTH", to help people who might be searching for that exact name instead of "Depth"?
When you do major moves like that, it is really helpful to include a source or a reason why in the edit summary, even if you are this Wiki's founder.
I've looked around and while I could've missed something, I don't think it's ever said that the title of the film is in all caps. Why has the page been in all caps for the longest time? I'm not really sure and didn't noticeuntil recently.

Since it's never officially stated the title of the film is in all caps, there's no point in making a redirect.
Sorry to bother you again, but I finally bought the game with the steam summer sale. And the thing is my Blender can't open the .dae of many of the entities. So could you tell me what I must do to open them ?
Afaik, you can only open them with the in-game model editor and viewer, found in the games' main folder. Maybe with the editor you can export them to a format for Blender? Don't quote me on that though, the editor seems to crash for me so I can't check.
Thank you, I tried the model viewer and it's really useful to see what they look like and have a clear idea of what I'm seeking. But I found out how to open them in Blender 2.65, as soon as it isn't a static model, you need to edit the .dae in notepad++ (didn't even knew you could) and remove most on the data, actually I only kept the geometry data and it finally opened lol.
That's a good question, lol. I forgot about the navbox at first. Originally, there weren't any collective templates that showcased other similar wikis, like horror games, so people cooperated from other wikis and collaborated on mutual projects. Additionally, these serve as a sort of guide from one wiki to another and a way to highlight others as well. At least in my opinion.
Just open the game's main repertory on your computer and look around for the music and lang\eng\voices folders. The audio files are easy to find and require no extraction, since they are all in .ogg format.
I suppose so if you can access wherever your game is installed on your mac. You should be able to find the path by going through the properties of your game's shortcut. If you have the game on Steam, right click the game in your library, then go to "Local files" and click on "Browse local files" to directly access the game's directory.

It depends on if the character in question is worthy of a quote. Not every character says something quote-worthy, and picking a good quote can take a pretty long while depending on how much lines the character has.
Those are flashes of Catherine Chun pulling away her face and dripping with structure gel. Imogen and Cath just have similar hair.
Also can I get a reason for the Transmissions and In Game information being split? The Transmissions were written by Thomas Grip, the writer of SOMA, and when asked on his Twitter if they are canon he said 100 percent and that people are just quick to dismiss then instead of deconstruct them.
"On December 25, 2103, a party formed by Catherine Chun, Sarah Lindwall, Nicolai Ivashkin, Ian Pedersen, and Jesper Hill arrive in Site Tau, where they are joined by Neil Tsiolkovsky, and proceed to transport the ARK to Phi; along the way, Tsiolkovsky ends up dying in a landslide. On December 27, 2103, after the ARK team has returned from Phi "
According to computer logs at Tau`s dive room he picks up HPS1 on 27.12.2103 so he is still alive when they`re back
Also I have not managed yet (5 playthrough) to find any informations saying that he ended up dying in a landslide. Where are they?
The ARK team left Theta on December 25 and arrive on Tau on the same day as registered by Ross “People from the Plateau showed up. It was a group of engineers from Theta...". On December 26 Ross writes in his log, “Some of the engineers returned from Phi. Apparently they postponed the ARK launch...".BUT There's a log on Phi that only remarks the entrance of Catherine, Sarah, Nicolai, Ian and Jasper on DECEMBER 27!!!!!
So we can conclude conclude that Neil Tsiolkovsky took the power suit in Tau to help the ARK team to bring the ARK to Phi, but died on the ladslide and never returned, there's no log of his return, and there's his body on the tunnel linking Tau to Phi.
Thanks! Found the body that confirms that he in fact joined the Ark team. Date 27.12 on Tau dive room computer must be wrong then. According to Ross`es tablet Ark team returned on 26th so he was dead by then.
